ILLUMINATED REFLECTIONS

The movement and play of light and water was the muse for the ILLUMINATED REFLECTIONS collection. As light hits the surface of still or moving water, the colors, patterns and abstract visuals that are formed take the viewer into an alternative world. The conception of this collection started from studying shadows and abstract patterns of reflections and materials which create visually similar effects such as crumpling of mylar balloons. Experimentation with various materials led to the creation of a textile pieced together using scraps that portrays the glistening yet abstract reflections of water. The mix of fluidity and structure of water gave light to the structural silhouettes and soft hues perfect for spring.
